Two Greedy Italians
The two very famous Chefs Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo are on display at our new gallery in Ludlow. Our sculptor Jemma Pearson has made portraits of them out of plaster casts of their typical Italian ingredients and of different pastas for the face and hair in a 3D style doffing her cap to the 16th Century Italian painter Arcimboldo.
To gather the ingredients Jemma visited Italian delis near and far to bring back to her studio an array of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a variety of different pastas. She then created rubber moulds of the ingredients before producing the plaster casts which she then painted.
They are a real show stopper and are causing a lot of attention!
