Henry John Boddington. London landscape painter. Second son of Edward Williams (q.v.)
After his marriage to Clara Boddington in 1832 Henry John Boddington used the name Boddington so as not to be confused with other members of the Williams’ family.
Exhibition at the R.A. 1837-69, at the BI, but mainly at SS where he showed 244 works.
Henry John Boddingtons subjects are mainly views on the Thames and in Wales.
Ruskin praised his pictures for their honesty and true love of countryside
