Albert Williams (1874 – 1955)

Born in Hove on 20th March 1923, the son of Arthur C Williams, also a floral painter. He studied art under his father and grandfather, and also at Art schools in Brighton, London and Paris. His paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon, as well as at various provincial art galleries.

His work was sold by Harrods of Knightsbridge, London where it was very popular with collectors.

He lived for much of his life in Brighton, where he was a member of the Brighton Art Club. His work was often reproduced in fine art prints and publications in the UK and abroad. Albert Williams is without doubt one of the great floral artists of the 20th century, working from nature, and always capturing the unique quality of each individual bloom. His work is represented in many public collections throughout the world.
